Apple refused to provide permanent access to the data of its users, noting that they are willing to cooperate with the US authorities in the framework of investigations of crimes that threaten national security. On the eve of the country's Prosecutor General William Barr said that refusing to help law enforcement decrypt data on the mobile gadgets of terrorists is dangerous and unacceptable.

The court determined a preventive measure to the son of the ex-prime minister of Georgia

On August 4, the Tbilisi city court issued a preventive measure to the son of the former Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Zhvania, Bessarion Zhvania, and awarded him detention. The defense at the meeting demanded his release on bail in the amount of 50,000 lari, which the court did not agree with. According to the prosecutor's office of Georgia, Bessarion (Busa) Zhvania is accused of trying to intentionally kill the grandson of Georgian businessman Gogi Topadze Levan Topadze.
