The court determined a preventive measure to the son of the ex-prime minister of Georgia

On August 4, the Tbilisi city court issued a preventive measure to the son of the former Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Zhvania, Bessarion Zhvania, and awarded him detention. The defense at the meeting demanded his release on bail in the amount of 50,000 lari, which the court did not agree with. According to the prosecutor's office of Georgia, Bessarion (Busa) Zhvania is accused of trying to intentionally kill the grandson of Georgian businessman Gogi Topadze Levan Topadze. In the house of the latter, which the prosecutor's office recognized as injured, Busa Zhvania stabbed Levan Topadze several times, as a result of which he is still in serious condition, in intensive care, after several operations. Busa Zhvania himself received minor injuries, but the Topadze family suspects that the defendant himself inflicted these injuries. Bessarion Zhvania did not exercise the right to speak at the court hearing. Georgian media, citing eyewitnesses, reported that the fight between friends began on the basis of jealousy. The son of the ex-prime minister of Georgia faces imprisonment for a term of 7 to 15 years.
