Exports of rare earth metals in China increased by 19.2%
Exports of rare earth metals of China increased by 19.2% year-on-year to 5,551 tons in March, the General Directorate of Customs of the PRC reported on April 26. In the first three months of the year, China exported a total of 11,941 tons of rare earth metals, a 2.3% lower than in the same period a year earlier, according to official statistics. China is one of the world's leading suppliers of rare earth metals. A total of 17 elements of this group are widely used in the production of high-tech equipment and electronics from flat TVs to lasers and hybrid cars.
