President of IRI congratulated Switzerland on national day

On August 1, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) Hassan Rouhani, in a message to the President of the Swiss Confederation Simonetta Sommarug, expressed congratulations on Switzerland's National Day. This was reported by the Iranian agency IRNA. I believe that friendly and historical relations between Iran and Switzerland will develop using all opportunities within the framework of the Road Map of Relations, the message says. He also mentioned the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Iran and Switzerland. Rouhani expressed hope for further cooperation and wished success to Simonette Sommaruga, and to the Swiss people and the government good health and prosperity. Switzerland's national day is celebrated on August 1. Although the founding of the Swiss Confederation was first celebrated on this date in 1891, this day has become an official holiday only since 1994.
