In Sweden, they cannot guarantee the results of testing for COVID-19
In Gothenburg, located in southern Sweden, there was information that at least another 49 patients who had previously been tested for COVID-19 detection may have got the wrong result, as their tests were confused with others. Subsequently, the laboratory where the tests were received said that they could not provide quality guarantees for the test results, since the sampling technology was violated. This was announced on July 9 by the Sveriges Radio news service. Recall that the Swedish government and, in particular, the responsible minister Lena Hellengren set a goal to increase weekly testing volumes in the country to 100,000 tests. However, in the process of implementing this directive, it turned out that reaching such a bar is not so easy even in a few months. Moreover, there is now information in the Swedish media that citizens in exceptional cases may encounter certain difficulties caused by the actions of responsible services. One of such violations, as journalists managed to find out, was the negligent attitude of specialists to the samples taken for COVID-19. It turned out that the analyses of 49 patients from Gothenburg mixed with images from other settlements of the Västra Götaland region, namely Partille, Bengtsfors and Dals Ed. In the laboratory, where all the tests were brought, they have already confirmed that there was an incorrect sampling technology, which led to the impossibility of establishing an accurate result for detecting COVID-19.
