Peru recorded a record for detected cases of coronavirus infection

The total number of cases of coronavirus SARS- CoV -2 in Peru increased in 24 hours per 6154 and now reaches 135,905, according to the website of the Peruvian Ministry of Health. This daily increase in infections is a record one for the country. There were also 195 deaths among COVID-19 patients in Peru. A total of 3,983 deaths from the disease were detected. Another 56,169 people have been cured. It is noted that 905,278 studies have been carried out in Peru for coronavirus infection in humans. According to the news agency, on 26 May, the Peruvian Ombudsman Walter Gutiérrez Camacho called on the authorities of Peru, Colombia and Brazil to jointly protect the indigenous peoples of the Amazon from the coronavirus pandemic, as access to medical care was limited due to the distance of residence.
