Opposition: Ministry of Health of Georgia makes purchases in violation of the law

Representatives of the opposition party European Georgia assume that the Ministry of Refugees, Labour, Health and Social Protection of Georgia produces public procurement of equipment and medical equipment in violation of the current law, without holding an auction and through direct negotiations with a specific supplier. They suspect that behind all companies from which the Ministry of Health purchased equipment in the last period, there are representatives of the ruling party Georgian Dream and the interests of specific persons are seen. This conclusion was drawn by the opposition on the basis of a study made by the Ministry of Procurement. All purchases are made on the basis of negotiations with one person. Including companies that were created after the pandemic began. For example, LLC Shilly was established on April 10, 2020, and the Ministry of Health issued an agreement with him on April 15 for the amount of 90 thousand lari, said at a briefing the representative of the European Georgia party Levan Tarhnishvili. According to him, similar contracts have been concluded by the Ministry of Health with other companies, newly established and not registered on the public procurement portal. It is noteworthy that these companies are not registered in the public procurement system and have no experience of such activities. On this basis, the question arises on what criteria these companies were selected and how they were found on the market of Georgia. In addition, some of these companies or their founders have previously made donations to the ruling Georgian Dream. For example, the founder of the company Wickand Bondo Goletiani in 2018 donated to the election campaign Salome Zarabishvili 25 thousand lari, explained Tarknishvili.
