PE regime in Northern Macedonia extended for another 30 days


On 16 April, the President of Northern Macedonia, Stevo Pendarowski, gave a press conference during which he stated that the state of emergency would be extended for another 30 days due to the coronavirus situation. According to Albanian news agency Telegrafi Maqedoni, since the Constitution of the country prohibits the extension of the PE regime, a new proposal will be made to introduce this regime. The President of the country said that under the current conditions the deputies of the Parliament already dissolved (in the run-up to the early parliamentary elections not held due to coronavirus) should return to work.

WHO: the number of detected cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection in the world exceeded 9.6 million

The number of confirmed cases of infection with a new type of coronavirus infection in the world reached 9,653,048, 491,128 deaths were recorded.
