PE regime in Northern Macedonia extended for another 30 days


On 16 April, the President of Northern Macedonia, Stevo Pendarowski, gave a press conference during which he stated that the state of emergency would be extended for another 30 days due to the coronavirus situation. According to Albanian news agency Telegrafi Maqedoni, since the Constitution of the country prohibits the extension of the PE regime, a new proposal will be made to introduce this regime. The President of the country said that under the current conditions the deputies of the Parliament already dissolved (in the run-up to the early parliamentary elections not held due to coronavirus) should return to work.

The court determined a preventive measure to the son of the ex-prime minister of Georgia

On August 4, the Tbilisi city court issued a preventive measure to the son of the former Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Zhvania, Bessarion Zhvania, and awarded him detention. The defense at the meeting demanded his release on bail in the amount of 50,000 lari, which the court did not agree with. According to the prosecutor's office of Georgia, Bessarion (Busa) Zhvania is accused of trying to intentionally kill the grandson of Georgian businessman Gogi Topadze Levan Topadze. In the house of the latter, which the prosecutor's office recognized as injured, Busa Zhvania stabbed Levan Topadze several times, as a result of which he is still in serious condition, in intensive care, after several operations. Busa Zhvania himself received minor injuries, but the Topadze family suspects that the defendant himself inflicted these injuries.
